League Information for Parents

Tryouts:

Tryouts will be held at The Edge on Saturday, February 27^th, 2009 starting at 9 a.m.  Times of tryouts are:

                                    9:00                     12 year-olds

                                    9:20                     11 year-olds

                                    10:00                   10 year-olds

                                    10:30                     9 year-olds

All times are subject to change.  However no age group will start before their posted time.  Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to time slot for your age group.  Feel free to warm up outside the playing field, however, DO NOT SWING BATS. 

A scheduled makeup date for tryouts will be Monday, March 1st at 5:30 pm at The Edge.

During tryouts players will be given the opportunity to:                     Field fly balls

                                                                                                            Field ground balls

                                                                                                            Throw

                                                                                                            Bat and Bunt

                                                                                                            Run the bases

All children that register to play in our league will be drafted onto a team and will play, regardless of ability.  Our league has three divisions; 7 & 8 year-old Instructional (pitching machine), Minor League (9 – 11 year-old) and Major League (10 – 12 year-olds).  The Minor and Major leagues are player pitch and all players (ages 9 through 12) must participate in tryouts.  Following tryouts the league managers will conduct a draft to fill the slots on the Minor and Major League teams. 

All registered players of league age 9 through 12 are required to participate in tryouts.  All 9 year-old players must try out and will be drafted onto a Minor league team.  All minor league teams are player pitch.  The minor league teams will be made up of 9, 10 and 11 year-old players.  While 10 year-old players are required to try out, they can elect to remain in the minor league (this MUST be made clear to the player agent at the time of tryouts).  All 11 and 12 year-old players will be available for draft onto a Major League team.
